GSFA Economic Empowerment Conference II

Kuala Lumpur, Pentecost Sunday, 25th May 2026

As the GSFA Economic Empowerment Conference II in Kuala Lumpur comes to a close, we thank Almighty God for a week of learning, fellowship, prayer, and practical collaboration among Anglican leaders from across the Global South.

Together we have explored how churches can move beyond dependency towards sustainable flourishing, strengthening communities through ethical leadership, impact investment, enterprise, education, and mutually respectful partnerships.

We have been heartened by examples of innovation and resilience from across our Provinces, including those inspired by our first Conference in Singapore in March 2025, and we have been challenged to think afresh about how the Church can contribute to economic wellbeing while remaining faithful to the Gospel. We were particularly encouraged by the rapid growth of impact investment projects being pioneered  by our Roman Catholic brothers and sisters and the potential for ecumenical collaboration.

The conversations begun this week are not an end in themselves. They are part of a growing commitment across the GSFA to be a community of practice, supporting one another in practical mission, enabling churches and communities to become more resilient, self-sustaining, and effective witnesses to Christ.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all delegates, speakers, organisers, hosts, and partners whose contributions have so enriched this gathering.

As we return to our Provinces and ministries, we commit to continuing to build relationships marked by trust, generosity, accountability, and shared purpose, seeking not only economic growth but the flourishing of people and communities created in the image of God.

"For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your prosperity" (Psalm 122:9)
