Heavenly and Loving Father,
We come before You in deep sorrow and urgency, lifting up the people and the entire nation of Myanmar, which has been devastated by this earthquake. Lord, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. In this moment of tragedy and suffering, we cry out to You oh Lord—bring Your mercy, Your healing, and Your comfort to those who are grieving, injured, and displaced.
Abba Father, we intercede for the families who have lost loved ones, whose hearts are heavy with grief. May they continue to find comfort in Your promise: "The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit". Continue to surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and may they find hope in the resurrection of Christ.
We pray for those who are trapped, missing, or in urgent need of rescue. Lord, guide the hands of the rescuers from near and far, strengthen them for the work ahead, and lead them swiftly to those in need. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and may many lives be saved.
Abba Father, for those who are suffering injuries and trauma, we ask for Your healing touch. You are Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals. Please bring swift medical aid from both near and far and care to those who need it the most. Provide wisdom, strength and patience to medical personals so that they may act with skill and compassion.
Lord, we pray for the people of Myanmar who are facing loss, uncertainty, and despair. We continue to seek for provision for the homeless, food for the hungry, and water for the thirsty. Stir the hearts of Your Church, governments, and aid organizations to respond with generosity and speed, so that no one is left without help. Let the love of Christ be made visible through acts of kindness and mercy.
Abba Father, for the Church in Myanmar, Lord, strengthen the faith of Your people and equip them to be Your beacons of hope in this dark time. May they proclaim Your love boldly and extend Your grace to those who are suffering. May the words of Isaiah 41:10 sustain them: "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Lord, in this time of trial, we plead for Your divine intervention. Lord, continue to have mercy on Myanmar. Let this tragedy be a moment where hearts turn to You, and where Your church rises to be salt and light in the midst of suffering.
We ask all this in the mighty, merciful, and life giving name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
